Favorite Flute Solos: Le Merle Noir by Messiaen, Duo for Flute and Piano by Aaron Copland, Fantasie Pastorale Hongroise by Doppler - these are just a few of my many favorites.

Why I Chose Music: Really, I think music chose me. When I was deciding on where to attend college and what to do, I did so rather blindly and rather last-minute. As a first-generation college student back "a few" years ago, there were few resources available to help students prepare for college. I knew I loved to play flute and was a decent player. My audition at Slippery Rock was really the life-changing moment when my love for music, and specifically flute, came to meet a welcoming and nurturing faculty who helped me begin the journey of honing my skills as a flutist and as an educator.

Favorite Music Memory: My favorite music memories come from times I got to make music with great friends: at church, in ensembles, and in other collaborations. There have fortunately been many of these times when I get to the end of the piece and have to remind myself where I am.
Favorite Thing About Ohio State: The opportunities that have come to me from being here - from my GA position at the OSU P-12 Project (p12.osu.edu) to opportunities to study areas of music that are most interesting to me, I feel like Ohio State is a place where I can truly grow professionally.

Three Things People Should Know About Me: I have 4 younger brothers, I have a masters degree in Ministry (Catholic), and I love the sit-com Reba!
